Unravelling Authoritarian Rule of Law in Hong Kong

Dear Friends,

My first Chinese book, titled Unravelling Authoritarian Rule of Law in Hong Kong: From Post-Umbrella Resistance to the Anti-Extradition Bill Protest, is published for sale in Taiwan. This is my recollection of the nature and relationships between the rule of law and authoritarian politics in Hong Kong from coloinal to post-colonial era. The origins of the rule of law in colonial Hong Kong paved the way to authoritarian rule of law in post-colonial era of this semi-autonomous city under the Chinese sovereign. The democratic movement as well as anti-extradition bill protests of Hong Kong were fundamentally resistance against authoritarian rule of law from the sovereign state.
